What does this mean? Trigger doing nothing

    Hello.

I have an Automag ULE RT custom with the trigger kit. Recently I bought a Deadlywinds On/Off ASA not realizing it is Macrolined.

No worries, I thought I would get some macroline stuff and set my marker up with it thinking it would use the gas through grip so I don't have the air hose wrapping around the marker.

Done with that, when I gas it up to check for leaks and such, sometimes when I pull the trigger, it would fire like 5 or so times then the trigger wouldn't 'recharge' to fire again. I have to turn off the asa and on again so the trigger would respond.

What does this mean? I use a Nitroduck with the interchangeable pistons and currently use the 800 psi.

Is your velocity set? Try raising it maybe.

turn up the velocity, that should take care of it if it fires then stops.

try turning the on/off asa until it gives you air, but dont screw it in all the way
Ive had a few that would choke the airflow if they were screwed in all the way

It's tough for me to see where my velocity is set because I do not have a chronograph and there are no paintball fields around within an hour drive.

I did up the velocity though (not sure what it is set to now) and it seemed to be working fine just dry firing rapidly. But if I pull the trigger, hold it, then release and fire again quickly the trigger will stop and it sounds like gas is escaping the marker and the trigger would remain unresponsive unless I de-gassed the marker. This would make it quite difficult to get a good reading on the chronograph.

I'll have to try the asa on/off tip when I get home today to see if it is indeed choking the airline.

It was working fine before. I actually have yet to play with it in games so I don't have extensive use out of it yet. But, before I put in the macrolines I broke the marker down removing the frame, rail, body and bolt just to see how they all fit together. Then I put it all back together and installed the macro's.

sounds like you need to tweak the screws a bit make sure they are evenly tight, also do you hear it click when you gas it up?

Make sure you didn't misplace the rail bushing.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Got home after work and tried this out first. It definitely fixed the issue. Now it fires consistently with every pull of the trigger no matter how fast I pull it. Awesome.

As for oiling it I place like 6 to 7 drops in the holes of the asa and fire it a dozen or so times with the barrel off. I assume that is the proper procedure. Should I place oil anywhere else?

Cool, I love a simple fix
One of my teammates remote has a bad habit of doing this also, of course we didnt figure it out until after the tournament

That's why I'm not a fan of the on/off ASAs. I just have the purge hole and that works for me...

One thing you can do, remove the set screw of the knob for the on/off ASA after you set it up right and screw it in to where it opens but does not choke the tank.

Then, if necessary, drill the slot in the knob a little longer.

Now when you put it back on the ASA, put it as low as it will go on the pin until it touches the ASA and tighten the screw down.

                            Voila! Perfect pierce every time.
