    [Urgent] Nitro Duck Tank/Regulator Question

I am JUST about to buy a used nitro duck tank from a member, and the tank seems to have been produced in the last two years. It has the Ireg on it. I am aware that nitro duck has gone out of business, so finding parts may be difficult for it, and I'm fine with that, but what I am wondering about is if I will be able to put a different regulator on this tank in the future. The big draw I have to this tank is that it's 92 CI, and I need a big tank and this one just seems perfect. However, I have heard that at least on the older nitroduck tanks, they use a non-standard size regulator thread.

Can anyone confirm/deny this? Do you think I may have a problem with getting a new regulator for this tank?

Thanks for any help- If someone could help me out tonight that would be great because I want to pay for this tank tonight if possible!

Any standard tank regulator should screw right into it

Ok thanks bro! That is what I am hoping, but I just want to be totally sure.

Can anyone with nitroduck tank experience confirm this?

I have a nitro duck x-tream reg from 03 and it's normal threading.

I haven't used it yet lol
I received it in a trade last week. It's a bit big for me though, it's a 90-4500 with tuff skin.

actually, i can confirm that what youve heard is correct

i have a nitroduck ss4500 tank and reg dating back to 2000, and it is indeed a non-standard, larger and more coarse thread, to my knowledge, if you have one, youll need to either pick up a replacement reg from ND, the ones that were ever made from ND that were compatible were the regular screw in, the ss4500, and the megareg, the x-stream and and any reg made after that are standard threads

pretty much after 03 "ish" all tanks from ND had finally switched over to the "standard" thread, they realized the error of their ways, and were taking steps to correct it, there were still some of the other bottles and regs coming out through them, and sadly there is no-way to tell what you have unless you pull the reg off

as for other replacement regs, i beleive i was told once that the ACI bulldog reg came in that thread variety, if your like me and have a shot reg with an odd threaded bottle, your pretty much SOL, and that really sucks
