    Classic Valve with ULT

I know they are not recommended together and that the RT is supposed to be better but I am still trying for the challenge of it.

So far everything work except that if I go a little too fast my sear would not pop back into position.

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks

The closest I've ever heard anyone get was with something like a black oring for a shim. I think that was last summer, but it sounded like he went back to an RT on/off later.

You could do some different things to connect the ULT pin to the sear, but in the end there will still be two problems:
      1) Your trigger pull will not be so light that it will walk easily, just slowly with practice.
      2) The holes in the ULT are not designed to put the full flow of the marker through them. The holes are smaller than the classic and RT on/offs, most importantly the one on top. So if you ever got it to shoot fast you should see the shoot down you get with a stock RT on/off, except it would hit you at a lower rate, probably around 11 bps instead of 16 bps, considering the difference in the flow areas.

The problem the ULT has in the classic valve is that you are using regulated pressure to push a smaller diameter on-of pin instead of the full input pressure like the retro valve. This results in much less return force on the pin and sear assembly. Less return force results in a slower movement so more time is taken to complete the cycle. The longer time taken to reset the on-off pin and open the front chamber, means the total amount of time before the next shot is ready is also longer. If you try to shoot too fast, you will pull the trigger before the chamber is fully charged and will experience a "short stroke". The short stroke will be a cough and may or may not have enough energy to cycle the gun.

One of the problems with the ULT in the classic due to the lower regulated pressure, is that the differential pressure between input and chamber is small enough that any sticking in the assembly may hang up the reset process. This is a major cause of issues when putting a ULT in a classic valve.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
