Emag lowers plus Micro Emag uppers

I have read the post below by Epic_Scotsman and still have questions with this project. As I am using a Micro Emag valve, would I still need to change the On/Off pin or the sear dimensions?

Also, where is Jay? (which one?) The former Proteam Products guru what was on here 2-3 years ago. Did he hang up his hat?

well... let me try to offer you some of my knowledge form my bucket haha...

if you are using any set of emag lowers, whether it be ULE version, standard version, or PTP version... they all use the same sear actuation and same specs.

this means that if you use any rail or body combination, in order for the bolt to be held back correctly by the sear, you need to have the valve and bolt at the same height from any combination... hence why Luke willnot powder coat the underside of mag bodies...

So in essence, if you are using a classic rail and classic body, or an micro e-mag upper section... they are the same height and specs away from the sear which means that the on/off pin needs to be the same length in order to function properly.

you will need a .750 pin (or shorter) for any valve you use with an emag

(someone please correct my if my logic and reasoning is off)

PTP Micro Mag Bodies are a different beast.
You need the spacer between the body and the lowers AND a MICRO EMAG sear.

hmm... thats interesting. Do you still need the .750 pin then? Because i always thought that the use of the spacer was to put the valve sitting at the same height as in every other body.

        I guess not though

So I need to pray that PTP still sells the spacer?

not sure but i thought the micro emag used a .712 inch on/off pin as well as the spacer plate

Wow, so I don't have a set of calipers, I may be better off paying some one who knows more than I do this?

The micro-emag on-off pin I got from Proteam was 0.675". My 0.725" (older emag) pin didn't work well at all.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Ok, so as long as I don't go to short I'll be just fine while feeling it out.

They have em... I saw Forest rip open a whole bag of them when I stopped by for a tour a few weeks ago. Contact Tracy_PTP on here and she will hook you up.

I have talked to Tracy, last week, and was told no. If I bring this up, maybe it would get looked into. Thanks.
