    emag electro issues

i have an e-mag with 1.31 version. i have changed from the e-mag valve to an x-valve. i was having issues with both valves but the other day it was just working in mech mode so i decided to take it paintballing yesterday. it worked, was under crono speed, but i could only get mech to work but not electro. if i had the gun in E mode i could hear the noid clicking but if i gave it air it wouldn't fire. a while ago i somehow lost the safety and it seemed like when i put an allen key in there to move the sear assembly it would then fire one shot. is the sear lock required for e-mode to work? i don't recall having this issue before in e-mode. i don't think it is an issue with the board or HES. any ideas? thank you.

If your sear is in fact moving in Mech Mode,.. and your solenoid is "clicking",.. then you have to try a few things on your E-Mag to figure out what the problem is:

    1) Check the voltage of your battery first,... make sure you have more than 16volts of charge

    2) Make sure your solenoid plunger length is at the proper length and well adjusted.
You should have a measurement of 3.005in from the bottom tip of the plunger to the rounded top of your sear clevis (the axle looking piece that attaches to the foward most sear arm) If this measurement is off,... E-Mode wont work.

    3) Check to see if your solenoid clevis on the sear is not broken. I have had this part snap in half on 2 of my E-Mags and it was the main source of the issue.

Check all of those things that P8nt mentioned. Just be aware that even a battery that shows the proper voltage might still not be good. If possible try a different, known good battery.

Most of the time this issue is either caused by the plunger rod coming out of spec or a weak battery. It is also possible that the solenoid is bad.

i don't have access to another battery, and that thing expensive to just get a 2nd for testing. any way to be positive that it is not the issue? same with the solenoid. i'll take it apart and check the plunger length and also check the clevis. as i had asked, would the removal of the safety be an issue? it seemed as if it would fire if i manually moved the sear from the assembly part that you can see from the hole left by the safety.

Hrm...I'm not sure I remember correctly, it's been a while...but isn't the on/off pin different length for an emag? Try swapping out the pins from your old emag valve into the new X valve.

it is not the on/off. if it was i wouldn't be able to fire in mech mode either. i think hybrid mode was working cause i was getting it to bounce. not sure if it was the regular rt bounce or hybrid, i'll do some more testing.
