    X-Mag Anodizing

Well, I finally got ahold of an X-mag tonight and I'm a little bummed. The e-bay seller was pretty dishonest about the condition of the marker. It is alot more dinged up than his "9/10 " and "only scratched on the battery pack" comments led me to believe. Basically, I want to restore this marker to its full glory For those of you who have reannoed Xs, how much did it cost you and who did it for you?

Talk to Tuna about it. He is the man for reconditioning XMags.

If it is mechanically sound, wouldn't you just need a new ano job and that depend on how much you want to burn?

It is mechanically sound as far as I can tell. I will test it fully today. He sent me a slip from AGD showing that they had recently (July) fixed the marker and brought it to working specs. The big things on my mind are getting a reanno, keeping the costs down, and possibly getting some new grips and trigger for it if I feel like it. The main thing is I don't know how to get the metal ring out for anodizing. I would like to do something fancy like a splash or marble effect but the likely $300+ dollar price tag makes me think about just reannoing it gloss black for simplicity.

Also, how do you get the adjustment magnets for the trigger out of the grip frame? I can't think of an easy way to do it.

Would noxx be willing to bluff the scratches out? I know some anodizers can do this. Can he or will I have to pm him about that and a gloss black anno?

Here is a link to how it comes out. There may or may not be a set screw under the body. Don't use your finger to try and unscrew it or you'll get a nasty cut. BigE told me that Tuna has a special tool to remove the stainless insert....
