No don't take apart the "brass plug". It is called the reg piston and has specially adjusted internals for the blowoff valves.

On the 2 interwound springs use a light grease. You want them to be coated just to keep them from rusting/binding and keep them from getting dirty.
I have a generic grease I got at a paintball shop, but Dow 53, shockerlube, gun sav, or whatever brand you like will work.

For everything else (o-rings) marker oil is the way to go. Gold cup, Autolube, Extreme Rage oil, pick your flavor.

Make sure not to over oil stuff, too much can be just as bad as not enough. Just get the contact surfaces coated lghtly when assembling and run a few drops through the ASA on the next air up and you should be fine.

I think AGD recommends white lithium grease for the springs, I found at an auto parts store for a few bucks.

the only reason to grease the reg spring is for corrosion control so pretty much anything you want to put on there will work . word of caution though if you use a grease that can affect orings make sure you dont get any on the piston oring.
