bolt/sear issue...

just installed a ULT

fire a shot and sometimes the bolt doesnt go all the way back because the sear is pushing on it and it stops my bolt so that nothing reset's and I have to push my bolt face to reset everything

my question, Im thinking I can solve this by installing a longer spring, I have the shortest spring in now

I believe I have 4 shims in the ULT and 2 in the LVL 10

any advice? Otherwords I am going to be looking for a longer spring to overcome any pressure the bolt may experience.

I'd try a longer spring as well. Would be easier on paint as well. Did you check if the carrier was too tight?

my carrier has actually been too loose lol

it would leak every other shot so I swapped the oring out and now its perfect

but Ill get my hands on a more powerful spring and let you guys know

If it doesn't reset, its not the spring. Its usually bolt stick or a ULT that is not properly setup. I'd go with bolt stick as the issue. Its just that the ULT installation makes the whole system a lot more sensitive to tolerance issues, and therefore people have a tendency to think it is the ULT that caused the problem.

A stiffer spring that works is only a temporary band-aid fix and the problem will inevitably crop up again.
