    Curious valve

I saw a classic mag valve that I have never seen before. (sorry, no pics)
It looks like a regular valve, except it has an o-ring near the front.
It's on the actual valve body, behind where the bumper is. It keeps it snug within the marker body.
    Is this rare/normal?

I've never seen one before. Probably a "custom" job. I don't see any tangible benefit from it.

If the valve is properly tensioned an an AGD body and rail, there wouldn't be any need of an oring there. The pressure of the bolt spring and the proper fitting of the rail bushing with a tight thumb screw would prevent any valve movement that this oring would "fix". I doubt you will see any noticeable differences if you use it or not.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

It looks like a factory setup, not just an oring stuck there.

Did level 5 valves have this?

Get us a pic of the valve with the oring.

The camera was a little too close to the valve for a clear picture.

I've not seen a valve with an oring like that. It is probably one that was installed aftermarket. Its easy to do by cutting a groove at the front with a lathe.

Could it be a removable power tube with an oversized oring underneath?
