Anybody heard of a ANS phase 2 regulator body? Any comments, worth it, no good?

I've got an empty one, no reg, spring or adj nut... You pay the shipping and you can have it.

    What does that tell you...

Your best bet is to save your money for an XValve with Level 10 bolt.

You only need a modded back section if you have one of the original 68 Automag valves that had holes that didn't line up with the front holes. Even then you could easily do the modification yourself with a drip press or a hand drill, vise and a steady hand.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
