HPA help!!! Long time away from paintball

Im not really new to this site. Used to be on here all the time back in 01 when I was still playing paintball all the time. Havnt played since 02. My name was predater. I couldnt remember my password or the email that I used so I just made a new user to match what ive got on the motorcycle forums that im on. I was using a original automag RT at that time with a full nitroduck megareg system. It was a heck of a setup and I loved it. Right now im waiting on the tank to come back from being hydroed. Other than getting a new mask linse and maybe a new hopper I plan to run the gun as is.

    Now for the questions

Ive noticed that some time in the recent past Nitro Duck has sold the buisness and closed. Is there anywhare that I could get a rebuild kit for the reg and some tank 0-rings? everything is fine. but since the tank has maybe 8 years left on it I would like to have parts if need be to make sure this reg makes it. Also. I do not see any nice fully adjustible hpa tanks for sale anymore? Flatline? AngelAir? AirAmarica? NitroDuck? Are there any out there? Or is it all the built on pre reg tanks that screw in to a co2 fitting now?

OH. 2 other questions. Who still makes barrels with the old quarter turn setup? And is viewloader or Halo the rute to go on a top end hopper now? I see there are quite a few choices anymore. But them 2 looked to have the best stuff. from what I can tell they might actually make a hopper that can keep up with fast guns now.

Well sorry for the rambling and odd questions. But im trying to get back in to this sport after a long absense and would like to have a clew on some of the updated products out there. I see they have a level 10 bolt and ULT valve. But to be honest I loved my trigger feel and never had a prob with the bolt other than a slow hopper. So I dont plan to get eather of these products.

Well, I dont know about your Nitro Duck reg but I can answer a couple of your questions.

    1. No one makes automag twist lock barrels anymore. However you can still buy old stock, or used, from many, many places if you look around. I got a 'new' sealed in the bag 12in Smart Parts All American barrel back in Nov for $40. It was from 1999.

    2. I'd definately think about getting the Lvl10 bolt for your RT, but I wouldn't change the trigger if you liked the original one.

Palmer's Pursuit Shop just did a run of twist-lock brass barrels a few months back, and barrels come up here and on Ebay quite often.

The following make adapters so you can use autococker barrels in your automag:
Doc Nickel ($39.95, 304 series Stainless Steel, 3/4 of the way down the page) http://www.docsmachine.com/tees/
      Noxx55 from MCB ($30.00 Anodized Aluminum) http://www.shop.noxx55customs.com/pr...=4&productId=4
Python Paintball ($69.95 and is a bore kit too) http://www.pythonpaintball.com/index...76385f8b28845a

There may be others, but there are 3 off the top of my head.

The 2 highest rate of fire loaders right now are the Dye Rotor and the Empire Prophecy. The Prophecy is based off the Magna, has interchangeable front parts for different capacities and was designed by Manike (Simon Stevens) who used to be with AO UK and is an all around great guy.

After those 2 loaders you are basically looking at Halos, Empires, and the Vlocity series from Viewloader.

      Welcome back.

Thanks for the reply. since typing this thread I decided I put it in the wrong forum.

I had noticed that there were adapters on the market. My deal Is. I love the twist lock. Wont part with that unless I have to. I have noticed I can get a freak bottom for a mag. I will keep looking. Wasnt ever a fan of the 2 piece barrels Ive got a DYE ultralite that has worked great for a million years. I dont plan on changing. Mainly interested in if they are even out there anymore.

So the Dye rotor and the Empire Prophecy loaders are the best 2 overall on the market? Or just the fastest. Im not one to just spray the paint. It will just be nice to not overshoot my hopper every 10 seconds. So one that is a tad slower but more rugged would be more practicle to me.

What bout air systems? Like the barrel I dont plan to give up my mega reg anytime soon. But since they dont make it anymore I need to be studying whats out there. And I would really like keeping my fully adj reg vs a preset.

I have a VL Evolution (Egg) 3 and it was good for a season, but the paddle cracked where it mates to the servo gear, so I wouldn't call it reliable. It was fixable, but it let me down.

          Halo shells apparently crack often.

My next loader will probably be a Vlocity or a Vlocity JR. unless I splurge on the Prophecy.

Your reg should last for a long time. Keep one that works.

Here are the barrels on Ebay at the moment.
