    Raven IT body oddities?

    Hey guys,

I've been running into some problems lately and i was wondering if any of the IT body owners have any input.

First is just a small thing my valve is just ultra reactive when paired with the IT body, not bad just strange.

But this leads to my other problem. I've been chopping fairly often with the IT body. it seems the sharp edge down in the breech may be the culprit, but honestly I'm not sure. I tried buying a longer feed neck to make a smoother transition from the end of the feed neck to the breech stop, but the body doesn't seem to like certain necks and it definitely does not like ccm no-rises.

Has anyone else experienced this or should I look elsewhere for the chopping problem?

I can't help much but I can give you some info I've gathered when I bought mine.

From what I've heard/read, there were about 30 bodies built at the time. Most of them had severe problems and some of those bodies where sent back to the factory because of those problems. What happens is that Raven didn't use an original sluggo from AGD to build the bodies and some of them doesn't even have the c-clip and washer, which may give you some problems regarding your bolt. I know that some defective bodies where still left on the market and these bodies have feedneck and detents problems, like feednecks that do down to the firing chamber or detents that either jump out of the body when the bolt gets into it or detents that doesn't let the bolt travel.

Aparently, you've got one of these bodies. I don't know if you will ever be able to really use it or if you can send it to some good machinist (Jay, Andy, Rainman or Luke for example) to get some work done into it. Sorry.

Now, regarding the CCM no-rise, that's exactly what I use on mine, with no problems at all:

You can find all this info I just posted by running a search here on AO.

Hope this info helps in some way. good luck with your body and let us know if you get it up and running, ok?

Here's one my Brother in Law put together for his girlfriend last season... no real issues with it. It has the strangler in the pic but we've also run a CCM no rise and a RPG sub-zero no problem. We've also not had any of the issues that you've described. Perhaps you got one of those bad ones? The body here we've had on at least 3 different marker setups with probably 4 or 5 valves... no issues at all. Though we are having some issues with a phoenix body we just bought... that's another story though... and it has more to do with various ULT on/off issues.

Best of luck to you! Perhaps you can get you $$$ back if it is defective!

Thanks for the reply guys. And those look beautiful by the way!

I did have detent problems but that went away once i switched to autococker detents from cp detents. I have a friend who may be able to machine the feedneck down so it will fit. It seems like it was also kind of a loading problem. After I switched to a q-loader the breaking problems seemed to vanish. So it looks like i was outshouting my halo O_o, and when the ball didn't clear the feedneck all the way the ball would hit the sharp edge and crack causing a jam. That's at leasst as far as I have gotten. hopefully i didn't get one of the retarded ones >.<

just thought i would update. the reason i was chopping seems really really dumb tarded now. it turns out my hopper was overcoming the dual detents double feeding balls causing it to chop. it would feed one and a half balls causing the bolt to "chuff" the ball against a sharp edge splitting it. and it looks like i got one of the good bodies as i do have the c-clip

now that the chopping has gone away i think it's time to swap in a level 7 and bring the op down more less filling.

meh i do have to say the rotor is a very nice fit with the mag, other than the fact it feeds almost too fast for single shots. it performs remarkably well during high speeds.
