Is there any heavy duty elbows

Will putting a halo w/paint on the plastic elbow be heavy enough to break it 'elbow that is'? Is there any alu elbows?

I know I would definitely be hesitant using a halo with an elbow. If at all possible, I would try to switch to a vertical feed setup (for mags, I don't know what gun you are using). Of course, this means you'll be shelling out for a ULE body and a cocker threaded barrel, but I'd still rather do that then use an aluminum or stainless steel elbow. It would raise the profile of the hopper too much.

My advice for a halo on a powerfeed: don't do it! lol

I ran a B2 on an elbow / power feed for about a year. After cracking three elbows at the clamps, I gave up and put on a ule body. The cracks were from tightening the self clamping elbows enough to keep the loader in position when I ran. I was considering trying the atomic elbows with the extra hose clamps. I think that would work if you don't mind the clamps. It didn't hurt any loaders, but I don't sand my loader feednecks either.

Something I miss with the power feed body is that the loader doesn't push straight down on the stack and the nubbins are not so critical as the ule detents. The B2 is adjustable, but I have a halo also and small paint can be a problem with either one.

Does the ule body come with a detent or do you have purchase that also?

          Thanks.

I cant find the elbows I used to buy, but they were plastic ones extra think with serrations on the inside diameter on each end and thumb screws. Made by ATI, ACI or something like that. Maybe someone knows which ones I mean? They held up the best. Widely copied though I'm sure you can get something to work. Just your normal plastic elbow seems to crack looking at it. These thicker ones last for a long time. They take a lot to break, but you have to still need to protect your marker/hopper on the slides/dives into bunkers. Them elbows are not invincible. You will have to sand a halo though to fit it to the elbow. The elbow isn't that forgiving to stretch over the fat halo. Halo's are what I normally use. No other problems with there use with an elbow on a power feed. Height cane be a concern. It is a little taller, but functionally speaking the hale works great on a power feed.

crashcooper has what looks like what I'm talking about forsale in the dealer forum.

Update: They are ACI brand elbows. I have know idea if they are made still, but they were good. both mine are +++years old. I guess i was wrong though the serrations are just one side not both.

              Make your own elbow

After reading this post i couldn't justify buy a $40 elbow, so I went to Home Depot.

Depending on how handy you are...you could buy 1 inch 45 deg copper coupler, dremel some fins on the ends like most feednecks and than use something like 1/16 inch rubber for the end that attaches to your power feed to build it up. You could use pipe clamps as the clamps to hold each end. The screw ones, not sure what they are called. FYI 3/4 inch copper couplers fit on the feedneck of my mircromag. Than paint evrything or not.
              That's the easyway.

I bought a 1inch 45degree copper coupler and a 1inch to 3/4inch copper coupler and than soldered them together. Tighter fit.
Anyways it cost $8 and took maybe 15min cut and to assemble.

The hard plastic elbows with the screws (ACI, PMI, etc) are terrible. The plastic is too brittle and the force needed to keep them from twisting just aggravates the cracking. The softer plastic elbows like the APP (Allen Paintball Products) Atomic Elbows are much sturdier. One of those and some hardware store hose clamps will be very secure and last for years. Rather than crack, they flex under stress and stay in one piece.

Try a Palmer's Ultimate Yoke. They are well-made but pricey.
