    Classic Mag Chopping Problems

My classic Mag is chopping paint like crazy with a level 7 bolt. Is there any way to solve this without buying a level ten bolt.

Buy a force-feeding hopper like a Halo or something like that. If it can feed faster than you can shoot, you'll chop a lot less. Just make sure you get something that force feeds instead of merely aggitating so the balls can't bobble in the chamber. That way, the balls are pressed down into the chamber faster than gravity, and so there will always be a ball there to shoot when you pull the trigger.

A friend of mine uses a Spyder e-99 with a viewloader evolution, like this.

Even on full auto (which is only 10 or so bps for him), the evolution keeps up. You don't need the fastest hopper... you just need one that will stay ahead of your fingers. For a classic, you're not going to shoot more than 8 bps tops anyway.

        I know it's not a free fix, but it's cheaper than a Level X.

EDIT: You answered while I was posting my reply. If you're already using a good loader, then I got nothing. Maybe it's your paint?

Yeah that make sense but its chops paint at extremely low rates of fire. Even if i go at 3 bps it will Chop the paint.

I am having a similar problem. I chop paint every game I play, usually very early in the game. It seems if I don't pull the trigger all the way down, the blot gets stuck and makes a burping sound.

            Does this sound similar?

metsfan, check to make sure your nubbin is good, with 2 barrel o-rings. Then make sure you have the correct (the one on the left) Powerfeed Plug if you have a powerfeed.

pbrules, it sounds like you need a larger carrier, or a longer spacer.

I have got the new power feed. So i do not think taht is the problem. I would not mind chopping balls once in a while but with my gun as soon as one ball breaks all hell breaks loose and every consecutive ball cames out broken.

                  Wire nubbin or plastic?

I used to have this problem alot, with a benchmark double trigger i just didnt get good trigger pulls and it would cause chopping even at low bps, what worked for me was getting a hyperframe. so you may try working on your trigger technique or changing your frame/getting a level 10.

Try your bolt. Some bolts are long nose, some are short nose, some are foamie. I have had numerous problems with my long nose bolt. In my 3rd. Gen Micromag, it actually sticks out too far and causes all kinds of problems. I can actually look down into the gun and see the bolt nose potruding into the breach area. In my classic body though, it is fine. Also, my foamy bolt. When it doesn't have a foamy in it, it cause numerous ball breaks. Shouldn't really, but I think the edges in the middle do to no foamy puts to much pressure on the ball.

Try your barrel to paint match aswell. Also, we have just moved from winter grade paint to regular paint at our field. The winter paint I had was just crappy and busted like crazy. The regualr paint we have now shoots just fine.

Are they chops or barrel breaks? Fragile paint forced into a tight barrel will break when fired.

If the nubbins are loose or the barrel is too large for the paint, the paint can roll forward causing the next ball in the stack to get fractured when the shot is fired. This is the same thing that happens when the bolt foamy is missing and the ball rolls back into the bolt nose.

Firing two shots in succession in a time that is lower than the gravity capability to get the next ball into the breach will cause a chop.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
