Low Velocity

Not too long ago i developed a leak out of the side vent hole on my valve. It was a very minor leak and i was still able to operate my mag without any apparent shootdown. This past weekend i went to play with it and when i went to chrono it would not go above 200 fps even after i bottomed out the regulator. Is this a common side effect of my valve leaking or do i have another problem that i need to try and fix?

did you oil it? it sounds like you have some o-rings that arent sealing that may need to be replaced, and also you may have some dirt in there causing problems. stirp it apart check your orings and oil it really well, check the lube on the spring pack as well

i appreciate the quick response and i have already gone through troubleshooting and oiling to fix the leaking out the side. im just waiting to get some new orings to replace them to fix that problem. Just to clarify what i was originally asking is if low velocity is a possible side effect to this problem or is low velocity another problem altogether?

sounds like your reg pin is having issues, the leak out the side
so if the reg is failing it could definitely lower your velocity

yeah im thinking it may be the reg piston oring or hell even the reg piston itself or the spring pack is messed up

Leak out the side hole is usually a reg seat leak, I believe.
