So I will soon be joing the ranks of automag owners, Huzzah! I recently purchased a minimag and should be receiving it in the near future. Not only is this my first automag, its also my first marker. After several years of rec woodsball play, I decided Im tired of using the same old rental guns. After some research for a decent, reliable and affordable gun, automag became the clear choice. So the noob that I am in many aspects, I have a few questions to help get me started and hopefully playing on my first outting with the gun. While I've done quite a bit of reading of stickies and forum posts (as well as watching the youtube Tom Kaye automag videos), i apologize if i missed any simple to find information somewhere.
What I got: a minimag with benchmark single trigger frame, lvl 10 installed and tuned, drop forward, generic barrel, and a 32 Degrees 47/3000 tank that needs hydro.
Well I think that should get me started, thanks ahead of time.

- So first question is in relation to tanks. I was thinking that I would go ahead and pickup another tank so that I could have a backup (and also a tank to use while the other gets hydro). now since i play casually and not concerned about weight, i dont need a fancy carbon fiber tank. I saw that ninjapaintball sells a 48/3000 tank for $50. Seems like a good deal considering that similar used tanks ive seen for sale will most likely need hydro soon and so the total cost will end up being close to 50. Is this a suitable tank for the minimag? Im still reading about about air systems as I never had to really think about it before, so any helpful info, particularly in relation to automags, is welcome.
- Next is hopper choice. For now I thought id just start with a Ricochet AK/Apache or a Revy 12volt to keep things simple. Good choice or should i go for more?
- In relation to lvl 10 and spare parts, Im guessing the o'rings of the lvl 10 are different than those in the standard mag o'ring kit so i should have both? Also, since im starting from scratch, anything else i should consider having for normal maintenance and field repair?
- To oil the gun, i was reading i can put some oil on the asa and do some dry firing without the barrel. Is that still recommended with the lvl 10? Otherwise do i need to oil each o'ring individually?
Well I think that should get me started, thanks ahead of time.
