What's the function of this specific part?

    Hi guys,

You know on the valve, near the back, there's a small tube (don't know its name) that's hammered in between the 2 tank adaptor screws.

What's the function of this piece?

    Thanks!

Are you talking about the roll pin? If so, I believe that's for alignment of the valve, but I could be wrong. It's happened before. Like once.

What happens if you remove this roll pin?

Yeah, that's the roll pin I mentioned earlier. The only function I know it serves is to help with alignment when inserting the valve.

That pin is there to ensure that the valve lines up properly in the mainbody and on top of the rail.

Its important that the sear and on-off line up right. Else when you pull the trigger the back end of the sear might miss the on-off.

AGD also milled a "z" grove in the rail for this pin to travel in for when you pull the valve out. If you forget to degas your gun that the whole thing just can't shoot out the back. The roll pin should stop the valve when it encounters the turn in the grove.

all it does is keeps the reg from turning when adjusting the velocity.

but the back of the reg can begin to come unscrewed. just keep an eye on it and make sure the allignment marks stay alligned. Pick one up when you can.

So as I understand its true purpose is to stop the back of the reg unscrewing either by accident, or when you adjust the velocity.

                        Right.

Let me guess. You accidentally knocked it out somehow, didn't you.
