leaking HPA gauge

So the 5kpsi gauge on my 68/4500 MacDev tank has started leaking randomly. There's a tiny little hole on the side of the gauge, and it's slowly venting air. It will drain my tank in less than a day. At first I thought the tephlon tape had just worn out, but I replaced it and the leak is still present.

I'm assuming I should just replace the gauge, but I'm just double-checking. I don't want to replace a $5 part only to find out that there's something else wrong with the tank reg. Any help?

sounds like a bad gauge
if something severe was wrong with the reg, it would probably be venting from some place other than the gauge
