    EP Mag UTB settings

What are you guys using for settings on your EP mags using the UTB? I know every gun is different, just looking for a good starting point.

    Thanks

Start your dwell off at around 10 ms and go from there. Adjust your LPR up like 1/4 turn more after its high enough to fire the gun. Also, leave some space between your ram and sear leg (pre travel). That makes a ton of difference. Try to have the ram strike it at its lowers point for more leverage.

***All the above effect your board settings

Let us know how it turns out.

      I second this.

Doing it this way makes a huge difference in properly tuning the UTB and ram to your setup on the marker.

Thanks. Rained in South Georgia yesterday so didn't get a chance to play.
Am I correct in that the lower my dwell is the better air efficiency I will get? This is one of the goals I am trying to achieve with the settings.

        Thanks again

          For the solenoid, yes.

          Keep in mind that:

Lower Dwell = less power from the battery used = less air being used = lower MROF

Higher Dwell = more power from battery used = more air being used = higher MROF

You want the "happy in-between" where you arent getting shot drop off, your ram is cycling fast, and your arent killing your air and battery too quickly. You will know when you find it when your chrono readings are more consistant and dont spike or drop off as much.

The way I test settings is by not using it during play. I get 500 rounds and a fresh tank of air, set the gun on full auto and shoot all the paint. Write down all the settings along with all the remaining air numbers and record voltages of the battery as well.

Alot of work, but were talking about testing multiple settings,... so if you want a legit all around answer, thats the way to go.

Thanks P8nt. Not sure if I have the patience for your procedure but maybe. Did some testing yesterday and was able to lower the dwell, definitely increased my efficiency but will have to test more to see how much. I never set my gun over 13 bps so that's what I tested at.

            Thanks

I would try to get your testing ROF up to 15-17bps range.

Reason being is you can eliminate the common question of "how fast will it reliably go" if you ever choose to sell it. Reason behind the numbers 15-17 is less than 7% of walk-on players can pull a BPS of over 17 for longer than 30 seconds in a consistant string of shooting in a game.

I threw the procedure that I use out there because Im doing some product testing of my own. So when I do testing,... I test it all and leave little room for error or question.

Simple tanks of air and single shot chrono checks will work for you at this point.

Try to not jump between long strings of paint being shot and then single shots. It tends to throw your readings off somewhat.

Thanks P8nt. Going up to 17 bps for testing.
