How do you degas a marker with the flatline

Okay, I know chances are high I'm just running on a low wattage, but how do you depressirize the mag for storage/dissembly/cleaning when you're done with the flatline? My system generally has 400 psi leftover. The only thing I've found is to remove the valve screw.

    'lil help here?

Macroline. As you know, that's neigh impossible to remove under pressure. I might go the SS braid route though if that's the only solution.

Ya I have a quick connect on SS line and can just disconnect after the marker wont fire anymore with the air off. Some folks use a inline backcheck to degass.

I haven't heard of an inline backcheck. Where do you get one?

Just did some scrounging and found it (took me long enough). A backcheck valve is just an HPA fill nipple. I actually have one of those, it's a real good idea.

KC, I've been looking at your BST thread for awhile, I'll probably pick some of that stuff up either way.

That is true but you will still have line pressure. Its actually called a slide check.

Here..........http://www.actionvillage.com/039-530-0013 The fat part in the middle where the N is SLIDES and vents the line pressure and cuts off the down stream. Its like another on, off with a vent or bleed.

slide checks are rather large, and quite annoying. I got rid of most of my flatline tanks, but the one that I do have I use a pro-connect it is basically a quick connect fitting that allows you to degas your valve side. they are more narrow and IMO are the way to deal with flatline tanks.

                  just my .02

I dont even know if they are still made. I purchased mine in the 90s (wow I feel old). IIRC they were ~ 30-40 ea, but that was also when cockers were 300+.

Yeah, I wouldn't go with a slide check even if it's Ninja, and I've seen nothing but sweet gear come with the red and back "N". When I used a remote it was with a ball valve.

Seems to me most guys are doing it wrong putting the back check on the valve. I want the valve to degas, I don't care if the line keeps it's pressure (I'd actually rather it did). so the valve should go there, right?

Right now I'm looking for a macroline fitting with female NPT threads to attach the nipple to, and a 90 degree male-male elbow for a valve side QD.

                            These guys are great.

Keep in mind that the Warlock models aren't usually compatible with the old-school variety of pro-connects.

I have a flatline on my emag. I still use steel braided hoses. this is what I do... I turn the air off on the flatline and give it 1-2 shots.. this lowers the pressure to about 300psi. it still takes a little force but just disconnect the quick disconnect.. it gives a little "pop" but its no big deal... being that you use a microline, I don't know how much harder that will be for you. If its still almost impossible to disconnect it, then I can only say to switch to steel braided hose with a quick disconnect.. IMO, the mag looks better with them anyways
