rt is chuffing need some help.

I had my rt running great and today i air her up to shoot for a little bit and every couple of shots my marker chuffs and the bolt doesnt cycle all the way. it does this with and without paint. my setup is a rt valve with lvl 10. i am using the largest carrier that doesnt leak and two shims with the red mainspring. i dont have the slightest idea of what to do to fix this problem as i am still newer to mags. any help would be great.

    thanks

Most common causes top to bottom:

Your velocity might be set too low.
Your carrier might be too tight.
You might not have enough lube.
Your tank might be starving the marker.

i have an apocolypse tank set at 1000 psi a larger carrier leaks, everything is very well lubed and velocity seems good. do i need to add shims or would that not cause this problem?

      thanks again

Shims should only be added if the bolt fails to reset after a jam.

        Turn up your velocity.
Does your tank have over 1000psi in it? You're not running it remote are you?

Your remote is most likely starving the valve. This is common and why I asked.

Hook the tank up without the remote and see if that is the culprit.

I concur with the above diagnosis.

Also, how old is your bolt spring? An old or worn bolt spring will cause similar issues. The bolt springs are consumable items and need to be replaced occasionally.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

yeah im guessing i should just get new shells. there is no where for the screws to screw into. what parts should periodically get replaced? might as well replace whatever can get warn down while im getting new shells then unless i can get it tight on there with tape or something.

thanks for all the help guys.

There are two more issues that could be causing the chuffing too:

                  1) The valve could be screwed down too tightly. I can ONLY finger tight might before it starts chuffing when I shoot, even a quarter turn past finger tight with an allen key will screw it up.

                  2) How far did you screw the remove line down? You should only screw the remote down until you hear your gun gas up and then another quarter turn, any more and the remote line will actually starve the gun.

One question though, what do you mean by 'new shells'?

He cross-posted from his other thread.

                    Good tip about the remote.
