    Barrel Twist Lock Assembly removal/install

    Hey all,

I have a rail with the Barrel Twist Lock Assembly still in it and i need to remove it and install it in a new rail.

Can someone please give me advice on removing the barrel twist lock assembly from the current rail and installing it in the new rail.

    Thanks

I can tell you how to get it out..

Put your rail upside down using two pieces of wood as horses

hit the twist lock assembly with a hammer from the bottom

Getting it back in, I've never tried

getting it back in could be hard, as it's a really tight fit, i usually end up sanding the sides of the twistlock assembly a bit to get it in without damaging it or the rail

Don't sand the TL assy it's supposed to be a friction fit. To reinstall it simply loosen the set screw on the bottom of the TL assy until all of the tension is removed from the pin. Use a brass punch or round stock to reinstall the TL assy into the new rail...
