Can it be done? Probably.. if you replace half the reg. Does it make any sense/is it safe/feasible.. I don't think so.

So changing the burst disk to a 7k one is no good????

I'm not an expert on the regulator but I don't believe it's simply the burst disk that would control it. If you change the burst disk, perhaps it wouldn't blow out at 4500 but maybe the rest of the reg would..

If it was that easy, I don't think anyone would sell anything except 4500 regs

My only advice would be, remember you are playing with compressed air and if you don't 100% know what you're doing, don't mess with it.

That's a good question. I don't think a MFG would machine the regs differently to keep cost down. I used to own a Raptor 68 3000 and a 68 4500. Each reg was machined out of Stainless steel and where identical in every way except the burst disks. I'm not to sure about the reg piston though. It looked similar, but may have been constructed differently...

best and safest bet would be to contact an agd rep for the flatline, and guerrilla air for the raptor

Try it. I just pulled apart both my 3 and 4.5k micro max flows for cleaning and there's is 0 difference between them. Everything is machined and assembled the same right down to the O'ring placements. Only diff is the tank of course and burst disks. Worst case scenario is your going to blow a disk out. There's no chance in hell the SS reg it self is going to blow up so I wouldn't worry about it.

                EDIT:
                Hell..

The Max Flow manual for both 3 and 4.5k regs is one and the same.

All you should be needing to get would be a 4.5 tank and a 7k burst disk. If I still had mine, I would defiantly try it out.

I am kinda intrested in knowing what the difference is. I know the burst disc are different, and I would guess that the reg piston/springs might be different, but would the reg housings not be the same?

If I ever get around to buying another, I'll try it out. If I blow myself up in the process. O'well

I know it won't happen. Those Regs are AGD Uber.

The original burst disk is rated to 5000psi, so in theory if you filled a 3000psi reg to 4500psi it would hold right?? If someone here from AGD can contradict my theory I'm going to try it.

take it from tuna and me a shop tech dont play with pressure that much could hurt u 4500 is enough to do serious damage and if you got hurt people would say your a posterchild for murphys law the disk lets go like its sposed to good if not and something else lets go its not a pretty sight
