    Q-loader pushing past twist-lock detents

    Hi all,

I have a Q-loader on one of my classic Mags with a twist-lock barrel. Every few shots the Q-loader double feeds past the detents.

I have tried the wire ones and the plastic ones, to no avail. The barrel I use for my warp setup works fine with the Warp (9V), but does the same thing with the Q-loader, it double feeds every so often.

Putting fewer prewinds in the Q-pods causes a good number of balls at the end not to feed, so that is not a good option.

Any way to make the twist-lock detents stronger? I would hate to have to switch to an ULE body just to get stronger detents, seeing that I don't even have cocker threaded barrels.

I had the same problem and sold the q-loader. There's no way to make the detents stronger that i know of. Your best bet is probably fewer rewinds or a ULE body, sorry i don't have better news. You could try an RT barrel that has 2 detents.

Did you ever try tape on the back side of the detents? I think athomas mentioned that for the plastic detents (nubbins) to tighten them up.

Actually I did try that with electric tape, just a strip, but it went flying when I put the barrel on. I will try again, wrapping around the whole barrel this time.

I think snoopay was might be on the right track with the double detent barrel. Just in case the tape doesn't help. I wonder if there is someone will mill a barrel for an extra detent. Anybody got an idea who might be capable of doing it ?

No because admittedly there were quite a few things about the q-loader i didn't like.

As for the milling i think luke could probably do i but you'd have to pm him about it, and i have no clue what he would charge if he did it.

I've never tried tape, but I'm starting to suspect I have a barrel that needs it.

Here's the thread I was thinking about...
