    Left feed body

I just bought a 68 Automag (old bead-blasted steel body) with a direct left feed body from the local field. Are these uncommon? I've only been able to find one other mag with a left feed body.

Can't be too uncommon as I have two left feed bodies here. One is an E-mag body, the other a minimag.

Most of the later mags after the level 7 upgrade were shipped with powerfeed bodies. Previous to that many of the bodies were direct left or direct right feed depending on whether you were right or left handed. There are quite a few of the bodies around, but most are probably stuffed away in a closet on an old unused mag. The good thing about the direct feed bodies is that the feed tubes can be cut down very easily to lower the profile. The cut feed tubes are not a problem with today's force fed hoppers.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
