    Minimag Bodies

What differences are there between a minimag body and a classic functionality wise? I'm speaking of powerfeed bodies.

Can i take a minimag body and bolt it onto the rail i have with my 68classic automag and use the same valve, barrels, and etc that i already have with my gun?

I'm looking to snag a black one used and want to make sure it will work before i spend the $

    Thanks

Functionality wise a powerfeed classic body is identical to a powerfeed Minimag body, the only difference would be weight since there's slightly more stainless steel in the Minimag. Everything you have now will be perfectly fine with the new body.

      Barrel might not work

If the powerfeeds are on the same sides, everything will work.

If they aren't, and you have a really old (or oddball) barrel that doesn't have a T slot or 2 L slots (ambidextrous), then the barrel won't work without modifications.

It is a really really really slim chance that you have a barrel that doesn't have both left and right orientations, but I figured it might be worth checking out before you drop the cash.

If your asking the difference between a standard right/left feed vs a power feed. The power feed was designed to help stop chopping by the awaiting ball to be forced outwards, bounce against the feed tube, then bounce back into the breach. With today's modern force feed hoppers power feeds are irrelevant to chopping due to lack of a ball stack. Right or left feeds are more desirable to me since you can sight down the top center of the marker.

Stainless E-Mag bodies are twist-lock. Should work with anything besides a classic RT valve. Be careful that you are using a rail that has the hole for the twist-lock assembly, and you should be good-to-go...
