I am in the process of building a pump mag, and I have a question. When I shoot my pump mag I don't have to actually use the pump to shoot. Have I done something wrong here or is that just the way they work? For some reason I seem to be having a hard time grasping the whole idea of using a regular bolt spring along with the wave spring. If someone can help me it would be great.

That did help a lot Kwood thank you. I knew it had to be simple. I ended up going back and tuning it in semi after posting and found out I needed to change out the stock spring with a .225 spacer. That solved the problem with it shooting in semi. Now I have to make a longer pump rod, I am thinking the first one I made isn't quite long enough. I didn't have much to go by since I couldn't get a length on the rod itself, I just kinda eyeballed it. I don't think it has to be much longer now to reset the bolt all the way. It will reset it every now and again, but not far enough consistently. Anyway I will update my progress. If anyone has made their own rod before and wouldn't mind telling me what thickness round stock they used that would be cool. The 1/8" I picked up was to large. This time I used welding rod.Originally posted by kwoodcheck this video out

That will help a lot, thanks Ando !!
Actually I don't have a ruler in 100ths so, check me on this. By the pics it would be just shy of
5 5/16" right?
If so the first one I made is 1/4" to short.Last edited by fishmishin; 11-09-2009, 12:20 AM.Comment
