level 10 leaking, sometimes

Hi everyone. Ok, so I got a new valve and level 10 recently. It came with an RT on off, so I swapped the ULT out of my old valve and installed the valve in my marker. One thing i noticed about the level 10 was that it slid on and off the valve very easily. So I threw a little oil on the bolt and installed the valve. I put about 5 drops of oil in the asa and aired up the marker. It was leaking down the breach immediately. I fired a few shots and it got better, but was still leaking. I fired a few more, then noticed that the sear wasn't completely resetting because my trigger stops were a little too far in. I loosened them and aired the marker up, still leaked, but then I fired a few shots and it stopped leaking, as far as I could tell. I fired a few more shots and it leaked again, then a few more, and it stopped. I aired it up again today, giving the oil a chance to seal the o rings, and it leaked at first. A few shots and it stopped. Then a few more, and still no leaks. Okay, so my questions:

I know it shouldn't leak, because every valve that I have had so far hasn't done that. I never had to tune a level 10. Is this the level 10 that I need a different carrier? If so, I can follow the procedure

Could it be the ULT? Would the number of shims affect this? I think it has 4 in there now, and the trigger is pretty light and snappy.

I just want to get the bugs worked out now, before I get the cheater, so I can drop it in with less heaedaches than necessary. Thanks everyone!!!

Oil should not be needed to stop an oring leak. You gave yourself the answer in second line of your paragraph. "One thing i noticed about the level 10 was that it slid on and off the valve very easily."
Go to the next size smaller carrier using the same oring.
Get rid of the trigger stops before you wreck your bolt and or sear.

Tune one thing at a time. Reinstall your stock On/Off and tinker with your lvl 10 first.

From what you said it looks like you need to go down on your carrier if it's leaking out the barrel. Just install 2 shims and ck to see if the lvl 10 is working properly after you get the leak fixed

For the ult. Just start off with one shim and work your way up till you get your trigger setup the way you want it. Make sure you don't get the ULT and lvl 10 shims mixed up.

It worked. Just had to go down a carrier size. And I took out one of the shims. I am going to try to fine tune it this week. I have an 88ci full of air, so that means hours of fun, and ignoring my wife

Good call, I was wondering about that too. Onbly thing I can think is that they don't allow the bolt to reset completely and can cause excess wear and tear.

Well, yeah, I guess if you don't allow for clearance at the end of the trigger pin?? I just milled my trigger down and put in two stops. I would hate to pull them back out and leave a couple of holes, huh, then I guess I would have a ULE trigger . LOL

The mag is designed to function properly and last the longest when the trigger gets a full pull and a full release for every shot. I know as well as everyone does that the sear and bolt in these guns are top notch quality, and are rockwell matched so they last a long time. So altering the complete release or lockup of the sear by limiting its travel will cause wear.
