    RT Classic not firing

Alright guys, so I got another RT in a recent transaction, and this one is pretty clean except it won't fire. When I air it up the triggers got pressure (pretty heavy too, even heavier than I remember any of my other mags being) but won't fire. I cranked up the regulator all the way and still nothing (no venting either). So I'm wondering if someone could break down the steps I should take to try and fix it. Its got a level 7 bolt, and the trigger rod has some tool marks, I'm really hoping they didn't screw with the trigger rod, I don't have a micrometer or anything to check its length accurately.

Also, does anyone know of a good link to completely rip apart a classic RT valve? I want to make sure its not missing any orings or has extra ones in there, and some nice clear photos of every piece of the assembly would really help with that.

With the marker gassed up and the safety on, you want a credit card's thickness gap between the back of the trigger and the tip of the trigger rod.

You are using a High Pressure HPA tank, correct?

Make sure that there is a gap of about the thickness of a credit card between the trigger and the trigger rod when it's gassed up. I've never had to use a micrometer for that adjustment, just eyeball it.

EDIT: Drat, snuck that one there before me. Though, the link is to the manual, here's the link to the exploded view. http://www.airgundesignsusa.com/down...oexploded1.pdf
This is for a standard Retro valve, not the classic, but they are essentially the same.

EDIT AGAIN: Wait, that exploded valve link wasn't there before! Guess a bit of going on.

Yeah, I'm using HPA, and yeah the trigger rod was way too long. Now, I've got it around where its about a credit cards spacing, but now the guns short stroking a lot and sometimes won't reset and starts venting down the barrel. Sooo, next step? (I'm gunna try to mess with the trigger rod a bit more but I'm curious is there is something else wrong)

check your bolt spring and sear, does any of it look worn? and the spring should be longer than the bolt, much longer if it's lvl 10

Bolt springs are a consumable item and need to be replaced from time to time. A weak bolt spring will cause coughing and bolt stick. Even though it is clean, take the valve apart and clean it out. That way you will know what you are dealing with.

Yeah, I feel like I'm gunna need to either get a new bolt spring, if I remember from last time I looked at it it was almost shorter than the bolt, so I may just go and level 10 it (I wish the kit was cheaper though), and maybe get an RT parts kit just to get a fresh start.

Responded to the pm, any way, I ended up just getting of the phone with AGD and I got a level 10 kit and a RT parts kit on the way, so hopefully I can go through the whole thing on Friday and get it back in top condition!

It never hurts to have a parts kit on hand, and the level 10 is almost a must have for the RT anyway.

U may need a new piston to run the lvl10, many RT/ReTro valves need a higher pressure piston to run the lvl 10

I stopped by today to see this RT in person.

The front of the sear which catches the bolt was chipped and the edges of the bolt were nicely rounded not to mention that the trigger rod length was out of spec and the spring tension was too soft

Luckily everything else was in great cosmetic condition :)
Once your new sear and lvlx kit arrives you'll have that RT ripping

Yep, thankfully Matt came by the shop and checked it out, its been a while since I've worked with mags and kinda forget its not like a spyder where it doesn't matter that much if somethings mucked up! Anyway, the guy may be calling up AGD and ordering the parts that I told him where messed up and having them ship it to my house so thatll be good!
