How do I remove an X-valve Power tube?

    Hello,

I am looking to disassembly my X valve to give a shot at having it anodized. How does one remove the power tube portion of the valve?

    Thanks :)

I think it unscrews. I had one done a while back by nu_metal.

It unscrews but should have some locktite holding it. I'm having post ano problems with mine

I believe I'll have to re-loctite it so it stops leaking.

Is it leaking out the threads or PT/bolt area?

        Edit:

And how did you get it anno'ed without drilling the Z pin?

Gruntbull did it for me. Took a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time but came out perfect. Only problem is that I have this leak now, which is so hard I can't tell where it comes from. It vents air down the barrel so significantly, you can feel it with your hand.

Well if adj your lvl 10 carrier every which way isn't helping then the packing probably got pinched when the power tube body was installed. I don't see a reason for sealing the threads but it's not going to hurt either. You sure your on/off is good to go?

That oring needs to be replaced. They dont hold up when the pt is removed. You also need to use red locktite on the threads to keep the pt in place. If you cant get it fixed, send it to Tuna.

I'll try replacing the on/off but I'm pretty sure the problem is with that o-ring and the lack of loctite. I'm already speaking with Tuna. He does have the o-ring in stock so I should be good in a couple of weeks (when it gets here through the mail).

Thanks for all the inputs and ideas, guys.

Mpsd, listen to BigEvil. Loc-tite is a thread locker to prevent threads from unscrewing, not a sealant.

I am. As I said, I'm getting a replacement o-ring with Tuna and I'm also getting some red loctite to make sure it'll be stuck in place. after I replace the defective o-ring. I understand that the o-ring itself will seal the gas leak.

                      Great info, thank you!

                      Couple of questions:

So I see it unscrews, what are people using to unscrew it as it has loctite on it? does it need to be heated?

Also, the pin on the back of the valve that keeps the valve from slipping out of the Z channel in the rail - do people just mask that off for re-anno, or have people pulled that out some how? If you take it out, how so?

Thanks for all the help :)

LOL! The credit card on the pic? That bank account is closed. And you wouldn't be able to access it without the passwords, would you?

Do all RT valves' PTs unscrew?

                            Or just the Xs?

You would be amazed at the info the right person could get from these forums if they wanted too...

In a game we played this guy stole maybe 20 accounts from people just from the info he hacked from forums. account thefts its kinda a long post but good info on how people do it and how to protect yourself
