I recently got my first mag (came in the mail this morning actually) and I actually dont have any air right now, bit Ive been lurking aroundhere and Im seeing comments about high psi output tanks, things like people saying that thier mags need a really high psi (often 1k+) to run their mags. thing is that Ive got a 45/45 w/ a stock ninja reg on it that I think is only running 850psi, is that ok? are people wanting very high psi's b/c of high rates of fire or is general velocity going to be an issue?
should I be concerned?

The 1000+ output pressure is for the RT Mags. They need the higher output to effect the RT.Originally posted by wrongblokeI recently got my first mag (came in the mail this morning actually) and I actually dont have any air right now, bit Ive been lurking aroundhere and Im seeing comments about high psi output tanks, things like people saying that thier mags need a really high psi (often 1k+) to run their mags. thing is that Ive got a 45/45 w/ a stock ninja reg on it that I think is only running 850psi, is that ok? are people wanting very high psi's b/c of high rates of fire or is general velocity going to be an issue?
If your Mag is anything NOT an RT, your tank and tank reg is absolutely fine....although, I might suggest getting a bigger tank...something in the 68-90/45 range. Mags are more efficient than our A5/X7s...but not by a whopping amount.
The RT is a high ROF tweek of the trigger. You have to sweetspot it and the added high pressure makes sort of a "trigger bounce."
If your velocity is too high, the marker will actuall bleed off the excess pressure back through the valve at your velocity adjuster. Simply turn it down and that leak stops.
I have found in the ~4 Mags I've owned [and one I still do] that the optimum speed has always been around 260-270 fps. Of course, you will have to make your own conclusions with how your particular Mag runs.
...and yes...it's me....lol -
AGD mags are designed to run at 850 psi. The reason you want higher pressure is not to make the marker work but to be certain that there is always enough air flow to keep up with the higher rates of fire. If your running it as a semi like it was designed to do you wont have any problems. If you want higher rates of fire then eventually you will want an adjustable regulator so you can get higher input pressure to the valve.Originally posted by wrongblokeI recently got my first mag (came in the mail this morning actually) and I actually dont have any air right now, bit Ive been lurking aroundhere and Im seeing comments about high psi output tanks, things like people saying that thier mags need a really high psi (often 1k+) to run their mags. thing is that Ive got a 45/45 w/ a stock ninja reg on it that I think is only running 850psi, is that ok? are people wanting very high psi's b/c of high rates of fire or is general velocity going to be an issue?
In the mean time enjoy your marker.
Edit: yes trigger bounce is created by higher pressures and adds to the RT effect on some valves. Maybe post up what your set up is so more specific answers can be made.Comment

For just normal use what you have is fine. If you want to have your Mag RT then you might want to go for higher psi output.

was thinking of pneumaging it, should I get a higher output then? and oh yeah, its an x-valve
p.s. HI DRUID!! *waves* lolComment

850 will be just fine if you're going to Pneu. Like it's been said, you really only need the 1000+ psi if you want to get the high RT effect (trigger bounce) out of your gun. Since you do have an X-valve (and assuming you DON'T have a ULT) then a higher PSI reg will get that trigger singing.Originally posted by wrongblokewas thinking of pneumaging it, should I get a higher output then? and oh yeah, its an x-valve

I PneuMagged my 2nd and 3rd Mags. perhaps it was my [lack of?] tuning but it ate air like a fat kid at a candy store...Comment

When I'm not wanting my x-valve to RT I run it at 900psi. 850 *should* be fine. If you're pneuing this gun I wouldn't think you'd have to worry about higher pressure to RT.Originally posted by wrongblokewas thinking of pneumaging it, should I get a higher output then? and oh yeah, its an x-valve

When I really want it to RT I give it 1200+
