    Retro Valve Leak

Getting ready for spring, pull out my always faithful Retro Valved mag and getting a leak down the barrel. Sometimes. Has Lvl10, running gold spring, using an adjustable valve at around 1k. Upon airing up, everything is fine. Shoot it and I get a light hissing down the barrel. It will stop when I do one of two things. First is to do a very quick snap pull of the trigger. Second is to slightly pull back on the trigger enough to make contact with the pin, but not enough to move the sear. This has been my steady marker for the past 2 years. Only thing that has really changed is I swapped out a trigger frame a few months ago. Traded someone my black one for their nickel plated one. I did notice that the trigger is a little tighter in this frame than my old one. Not a lot, but it is a touch. Everything is oiled.

Do I need to put a larger carrier in?

Not a larger carrier, but a smaller one. When the gun is gassed up and leaking, push on the front of the bolt with your finger or a squeegee or something. Does the tone of the hiss change and/or go away? If so, then yes, try the next smallest carrier and see what happens.
