    Is It Suppose To Hiss?

I have an air leak out the front of my new Tac One. I developed a snall hissing sound during a couple of games of paintball today. I fired a couple shots on the Tac One before I remembered to put oil in the ASA. After I put five drops of oil and dry fired it 20 times I was ready to play. At the end of the day the hiss was still low, but noticeable. Once I got home I oiled up the gun again and dry fired it to see where it was coming from. It was coming out the front and when I fired quickly it would get louder. Afterward I shook my gun from side to side and I heard a tapping sound. I held the trigger so it would move and shook again and found the sound was still there. I took out the X-Valve to see if that was the rattling noise, it wasn't it. Well I put the X-Valve back in and oiled her up again because I am paranoid that I will hurt my new gun. :P When I went to dry fire it I forgot to take off the safety so the trigger didn't pull. However the hissing sound became alot louder. Does anyone have an idea as to what is wrong and causing this air leak? Can too much oil be bad?

Sounds to me like you need to go to a smaller Lvl X carrier.

This requires me to disassembly the level X bolt right? Once I change the carrier will I need to lubricate any pieces?

How do you get out a carrier that seems to be stuck?

Use your FS screw , screw it in a turn or so it will grip the o-ring & pull the carrier out , use the same o-ring just a size smaller carrier

Thanks! I've been banging it against the floor with paper cushioning the impact, but it wasn't falling out. I will try using the field strip screw and see if I can get it out that way. I'll keep you posted. :P

You all rock. I ended using a paper clip and fashioned that thing into a small hook and got it out. Got the smallest carrier which is 0 (no engraved line and no dot) in there. Put two drops of oil and dry fired it 20 times and there is no hissing. I hope it stays that way. Next time I go out I will have to see how it goes. Thank you all so much. I can now go to sleep without this problem driving me crazy. :P

If this one starts to leak , you will have to go through the process with a new o-ring , even though they are " the same size " , they are all a little different in size , thats why we have different size carriers

Make sure you test without any powertube shims installed. They can cause leaking if too many shims are installed and it causes the bolt stem vent hole to be close to the carrier oring. The end result is that you end up putting in a carrier that is too tight to compensate for the leak and it causes bolt stick issues. So, always test without shims first. You can put them back in later.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
