    Regulator Burst Disc Stripped

    Hey y'all
    I'm trying to get my tank in for a hydro-test today. I started removing the fittings and such and stripped the business out of the lp disk. Yes, I used the right size box wrench. Everything else came out fine w/ no loctite, so I'm afraid the threads are seized. Anyone have a quick solution for removal? I was thinking catch it in a vise and turn the reg body. It's a PE reg which will be replaced with a geddon, but I'd like to keep it as a backup just in case. Alternatively, I can leave the disc in it and miss it when the reg body goes in the vise. Thoughts?

      i say send it to ninja to do their reg swap, 34.95+ shipping both ways they retest it and give you a new ninja reg.

              Just out of curiosity, why are you removing all of the fittings?

              I'd put the reg in a vise and grab the disk with a nice pair of channel locks and try to turn it out that way.

                  I figured I should remove at least two fittings so they wouldn't get crushed when the reg goes in the vise. I just wondered if there was any hope for that last little guy. I might do the Ninja thing though, if the new reg would be worth it. i think Koorsen only charges $18 for the test, and I wouldn't have to wait on shipping.

                      you can also ask ninja to put in some extra shims to give you an even higher output of ~950psi

                          I decided to give the fire extinguisher place a chance. It might be a mistake, but for $19, I couldn't resist. I warned him about the loctite, and he assured me that he wouldn't damage anything. They see them fairly often apparently. Said I could pick it up tomorrow afternoon after the hydro plate cured. They seem like good guys, so hopefully it will all work out.

                                  I know, right? That's the main reason I decided to do it. They had the test chamber right there behind the desk.
