My new set of lowers flashes "AGD 3.0" on bootup, but there is no entry for it on NiedTech.com for it. A search seems to suggest I picked up a set of lowers formerly belonging on an X-Mag? Can anyone tell me what 3.0 has that is different from say 3.2, like my other E-Mag is? Should I now invest in a programmer and flash to the latest X-Mod?
AGD 3.0 software?

3.0 was released with a shot buffer(tells the board how soon it can look for another shot in ms.) also had a trigger test mode. This version had many bugs.
3.2 came right out after 3.0 which fixed the major bugs the new feature of 3.0 had. -
Hmmm I hate buggy software... wrote plenty myself :)
So I have been searching for Xmod, and I am a bit confused. Some posts claim the software is free but you have to buy the programmer. Can you just pay a licensing fee or donation and just get it flashed by someone that already has a programmer? I assume to buy the programmer I would just PM Lornecash on here, as I don't see it on eBay?Comment

There's only a few people authorized to do it. Tuna, Lonecash and....hmmm...ya. I think the service is still $50Comment

Sorry Ando, I am now more confused. Are you saying that only those people are authorized to do it commercially, for a fee? But that if I were to purchase the programmer I would be able to do it, only for my personal use?Comment

If you don't own a programmer you need to send it to an "authorized programmer" to do it. That's just the way it is...
If you own a programmer, you're good 2 go and can do it yourself with no fee. Only thing with that is you can't flash someone else's mag without permission from Loancash. Programmers are $100 usually.Last edited by Ando; 02-18-2010, 12:51 PM.Comment

Ok, it is clear now. I will have to put the programmer on my "to buy" list then. It keeps getting longer.Comment

Since I been back on AO. I've seen maybe 2 sold by themselves. I seen most of them change hands with a marker...That's how I got mine.Originally posted by DoubleDutchOk, it is clear now. I will have to put the programmer on my "to buy" list then. It keeps getting longer.
Good luck finding one brother.

Hmmm...Unfortunately no. Without permission, that would be a big negative Ghost Rider
PM Tuna. He'll set you straight.Comment

I think that is what I am going to do, once I free up some cash. I came across a thread he last posted in June of last year that suggested he still had a good number of them left.
Incidentally, I read up on how Xmod came to be, pretty impressive and cool. I would definitely support that kind of initiative, to support future such initiatives, by acquiring the software legally. The guy deserves his money.Comment
