    Rail Mounted ASA

Rummaging through my boxes of gear...trying to consolidate. I come across an Automag worth in parts. In assembling the Mag...I find the holes for the bottomline are virtually stripped out...so then I find that rail mounted ASA! Screw it on...fits perfect and everything. Now I just have to figure out how to comfortably route air to/from it!
Did a few quick searches to no avail...ran through a few pages of the Mag picture thread...but as probably 80% of the pictures are 'Not Available...
Does anyone have a pictures and/or suggestions of how to set it up?
It feels like it would be too tight of a radius to comfortably have Macro...

Pictures would help a lot. I have a similar situation. The macro would have to be bent awkwardly to fit as is. I decided to add a 90 degree elbow between the macro fitting and the gas-through grip. This made it so both macro fittings swivel on the same plane. I hope that made sense. Not sure if it helps with your situation, but if you could add pics, I'm sure you can get the situation resolved in a matter of minutes here. I love how quickly AOers respond to help each other!

You are talking about the rail mount Asa that fit right behind the grip frame right?
I have seen some folks cut a really small piece of macro and put it straight in between the two 90* macro joints
of course you might have to experiment with it a little to get the right length but good luck with the project

Yes. The funky little one that screws into the rail right behind the grip frame.
Problem with using a straight bit of macro would be the inability to quick-strip! I would have to do some funky tweaking and/or have to take off the mainbody with the straight bit.
        Pictures would indeed help greatly!

          or

Not my pictures, just ones I found on google. The second is kinda small, but its all I could find. This is how the original mags with the back bottle came new, with a 1-2 foot long length of braided hose in a big loop to prevent kinks. Looks ugly, works great

You can also take a peek at the video that came with new mags back in the day. About 3/4 of the way through you can see a classic mag with a back bottle and a long coil of hose.

When I first got my mag back in 1993, it came with a 7 inch piece of braided hose. The hose attached straight into the back bottle ASA and straight into the side of the valve. Basically, it stuck straight out and then looped back 180 degrees to the valve. There were no angle adapters. It didn't stick out that bad and allowed easy access to the valve for maintenance.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
