    emag vs. angel

my dad wants to get a new gun, and he wants one of these two. Since he seems to not listen to me, and instead listens to my friends, I figured a response from you guys might talk him into it. I want you to tell me which is better, listing the pros and cons of both guns. Info like, firing speeds, consistancy, and accuracy. Thanx for any help you can give!
oh and btw, I told him he should get the emag, my friends seem to have convinced him that the angel has more range, more accuracy, and can fire a lot faster. They came to this conclusion because they were at a scenario game, and a guy with an angel had his marker set tofull auto, and the guy with the emag was using three round burst.

    Thanx again!

Both are great guns. But, Emags are "greater"! Emag's valve is the fastest valve on the planet. You run out of batteries, you can switch it into manual mode. They have the same amount of range! I hate that arguement! Gun XXXXX has WAY more range than gun YYYYY. Ok....whatever. I dont think that either has an advantage in BPS. The human finger can only move so fast........ Emags are supported by the BEST customer service in the business. I dont think you can get a better value for the money.

Angels are much less prone to break down, they are made much better, look better, shoot faster, and can be upgraded moe for your personall likes... arn't back heavy no maintnace, clean the out side and make her shine thats it, and maybe a drop of oil in the asa. On mags ya have to replace all the seals alot(or from my experience you do)They have a better trigger system too.

"more range, more accuracy, and can fire a lot faster"

Ok there are some MAGOR flaws with this. I dont have an E-Mag (yet) or an angel, but I can disprove all of this right off the bat.

        1- More Range.
ALL paintball guns, when chrono'ed to the same FPS will have the same range. The ONLY exceptions are the tippman flatline and the Z-body for the mags.(they use backspin to create lift, allowingthe paintball to travel farther without dropping) Two Identical paintballs, fired at the same angle and speed will travel the same distance.

2-More accuracy. This is more a function of a good paint and barrel match. Two guns with the same Paint and barrel will perform with the same results. The only variable is guns ability to consistently apply the same amount of force each shot. The RT valve the E-mag is equipped with should be very consistent when firing single, well aimed shots. Under extreme rapid fire, it will heat up and increase the shot velocity, but that is in a rapid fire situation, and you are probably 'spray and praying' as opposed to carefully aiming your shots.

3-Can fire alot faster. Ok, E-mags, again are equipped with an RT valve, the fastest recharging reg in the sport today. Theoretically the mag will fire faster than any other marker out there. The limitation on this is getting paint into the gun fast enough. Since current hopper technology only allows for a feed rate of 12(Revys)-14BPS(Richochets) Neither marker is going to be able to shoot much faster than that without outshooting the hopper.

The warp will keep up with the mag for a bit, but then it is still limited by the hopper not feeding it fast enough. The Much anticipated HALO hopper promises to be able to catch up with thefiring rates of these high end electros.

        Hope this helps.

mac2k4: Angels weigh about the same, are made far worse, have slightly worse customer service if you go to tourneys, far worse if you don't, shoot slower than an E-Mag, and are far less reliable, especially if you don't regularily clean out the guts. They also are far easier to break if you don't baby it.

hey, i'll put it on the table like this. yesterday my team played a scenaro game and we have a dark angel and an e-mag on our team. both shoot the same. the e-mag's faster, period. the e-mag is able to be mechanical or electro. but the thing is about the angel is that it's way better looking. the e-mag battery pack is not good cosmetics, sorry to tell you. and you gotta get a chip to have your e-mag full auto. that sucks. so they're about the same. but i prefer the mag. actually a hyper-rt is better cause it's just as fast and cosmetically more pleasing. i almost forgot, cheaper.

Personally, I would prefer the E-mag over the Angel. The reason why I would take the E-mag over the Angel is because the E-mag will still operate when the batteries give out. Cosmetics are cosmetics, looks are important but not that important. To appease the cosmetics crowd, AGD created the Extreme E-mag, which not only incorporates looks but more options. I highly recommend the E-mag, I know I will probably be looking into one in a couple of months or so.

ok, how do you justify this? AGD has the best customer service in the sport, and the only maintenance needed for a mag is oil every now and then. if somthing breaks, it is most likely an o-ring. if you run out of batteries and have electrical trouble, switch to mechanical mode

                they are made much better

this is an opinion, give us some facts to back this up.

                shoot faster

the emag is fitted with the retro valve, the fastest cycling system in existance.

                arn't back heavy

i think that the emag is very well balanced. you need somthing called a drop forward for your tank

mags ya have to replace all the seals alot

AGD has their own o-rings which are said to be 10 times more durable than regular o-rings. with proper oiling, o-rings have to be replaced every year or so.

They have a better trigger system too

this is an opinion. different people like different types of triggers. i think the emag feels very nice. some people say its similar to an adrenaline angel, but i have not shot one of those.

This sounds like the disussions we used to have about the mag-cocker debate.(Wait we still have those!!) Anyhow now we are into a different age of paintball with the electro's now its e-mag?angel? which is better? Well if we learned anything from past mag cocker debates. What do you like!!!! You are the one that has to shoot it. If you like the way one feels compared to the other, its aftermarket hardware, different custom mill options. That is the most important part. AGD has been around for A long time and has proven themselves to put super products out there. WDP though A newer company has also now proven themselves to put a great product out there. Both are great products they both perform very well. So go to the paintball store and put one in your hands or even better when out at the field ask someone that owns a e-mag or angel ask if you can shoot there's. That is the best way to help you make up your mind. (ok ok I'll get off my soapbox now)
                  __________________________________________________ _______
As for my opinon I would get the AGD I have owned mags from the begining when they were truely ahead of there time. They continue to stay primaraly in the same form to this day. That says alot about the original design. The e-mag that alows you to stay in the game if you lose battery power is a great option, that the angel does not, or will ever have. Remember like A car as soon as it leaves the showroom ( in most cases) the value drops so do your homework.

                  Hope this helps

I'd choose an E-mag any day over an Angel all for the fact that the Angel bolt can swell at times...also if you are playing and the chrono has to be around 250, it's not the best gun to have out there...270 and the Angel sings, but it's still not such an accurate gun in comparision to a Mag (any mag, be it an Auto or and E-mag) Plus when the new bodies come out, you can get all that anodizing/milling to your hearts content and change breeches (vertical/warpfeed) opposed to the Angel where you are trying to lower the profile of the vertical feed...Mags...they just rock...

I shoot both guns and still have to say I love my E-mag. Here are my opinions,
                      1. The fact that you have redundancy built into the gun. If the electronics fail you flip a switch and your still throwing paint.

                      2. The trigger in my opinon is like no other, expecially in hybrid mode. Don't get me wrong Angel has a great trigger too but on my e-mag it just has a better feel to me. One plus is thta there are no springs to replace from wear and tear.

                      3. Someone mentioned no upgrades for the e-mag. Who needs any its ready to go all you need is air and a hopper (with warp). Also the E-amg is still a relatively new gun so there are not a lot of mads for it yet.

                      4. Customer service, well lets face it there is none like AGD.

As I said before both are great guns but I prefer my E-mag over my angel.
My drinking team has a paintball problem.
