    Reg Backing Out

I have a 68 classic I just bought that has a problem of the regulator body backing out when I shoot. I have changed the reg oring seal and also the piston seal and I still keep having the same problem. Anyone know how to fix this? I did put a RT on/off but I dont think that has anything to do with it.

Yes, the Z lock pin is in there and is slightly protruding out as to guide the bolt back in.

It's ok if the reg backs out about 1/16 of a turn. The Z pin and slot can get worn, letting it become more noticeable.

The reg pin will follow the reg back as it unscrews, so you shouldn't see any performance difference due to pressure. The only problem it creates is possibly the single port on the reg back not lining up with the valve body port. If you have a multi-hole reg back, it shouldn't make any difference.

I wanted to be sure of the alignment on my classic ep mag, so I used a little bit of regular JB weld in the pin pocket. After it set up for an hour or so, I mounted the valve in the rail (aligned correctly) and made an indent for the pin. I removed the valve to let the JB finish hardening. This keeps the reg back exactly lined up.
