    Rail compatibility and on/off question

I'm putting together a minimag/classic valve marker and I have everything except for a rail. Do I need a classic rail, or can I use one from an RT/EMag marker? If so, will I still be using the classic sear?

Also, is it possible to use a RT on/off in a classic valve?

    Thanks

Like Sumthin said, all rails (like most other mag parts) are interchangeable between guns. Yes you will need to use an RT sear if you are using an RT or EMag rail.

Yes, you can use the RT on/off in a classic valve. I've got one in my classic and it works great. It lightens the trigger pull considerably.

Thanks for the info guys. Will an RT on/off simply lighten the pull or will it provide any kind of RT effect as well?

Would the length of the RT on/off pin be an issue in a classic?

I'm not sure if this is the case with all emag rails but the one I have has a circular hole where the body sits in it. This would fit a ULE body or a twistlock body with the circular piece sticking down , but iirc minimag bodys have a much bigger oval piece that sits in the rail (Been a while since I had a MM body but i remembered it being like the AM. If that is the case you would have to have the rail milled for the body to sit flush in it.

You can file the pims on the bottom of the minimag/automag bodies to fit the retro/emag rails.

The length of the retro mag no-off pins are the same length as the classic on-of pins, so the retro on-off assembly is a drop in replacement in a classic valve.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

The new classic rails from the factory can take either the SS bodies or emag/ULE bodies they have the round hole milled in to the rectangle that the SS body uses if you want to go that route. I think Luke will mill the rails to accept the SS bodies to.

He does. I have an RT pro rail that he milled to take AM/MM bodies.

Actually if the OP is interested I no longer need this rail and might be able to hook you up with it. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
