Cannot get my friends RT valve in micro to RT

We have tried different tanks etc with full 3,000 psi fills on a thread in with straight air lines right to the valve and his gun will not shoot any faster than he can pull his trigger in semi auto...it is essentially the same as his micro valve semi auto. The gun has a level 7 bolt.

The gun was sort of "farting" so I pulled the valve off for him and oiled it with good pneumatic air tool oil. The gun now does not "fart" but it will not RT at all only semi auto fire. I convinced him to purchase a micro when he started getting into paintball because I have always loved them and now he is getting a little discouraged because of the lack of performance.

I purchased an E Mag valve with a level ten bolt when I upgraded my micro mag and mine will RT much much better than his with essentially the same setup.

    Questions...

Can he send out his valve to get it tuned by AGD still or is that not an option?

Can you guys suggest a way to get his valve RTing?

I talked him into purchasing a HPA tank with an adjustable Max Flow reg but it should RT before putting this reg on.

You can do 2 things. Shave the on/off pin or get that maxflow running around 900+ psi and it'll RT to his hearts content. Your output in the tanks your using is probably too low. Shaving the on/off pin will get it going but I would just wait, get the maxflow installed and you should be good.

Higher the PSI to the valve the better RT effect you'll get out of it. It has nothing to do with the body.

this is good news except I am confused because he and I both purchased rt valves for our guns and his hardly RTs with the same exact thread in tank that I thread in my gun and get much better RT effect...in fact mine RTs pretty well with a standard 800 output tank now that I oiled all my o rings etc.

If nothing else I guess we will setup the max flow but at this point his gun does not RT at all : (

      Thanks Ando!

Have you tried switching on-off pins? If your micro has an emag valve (0.712" pin) and his has a standard retro valve (0.750" pin) then there will be a definate difference in the ability to be reactive. Plus, the micro mags require a much shorter pin to start with.

Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I have an E MAG valve in my gun and he has an RT valve in his to be precise

It all comes down to the lengths of your on/off pin like Athomas said. You probably have a .712 pin in your E-Valve and he has a .730+ in his. Since you have it, I would use the tank to get the RT going. Less things can go wrong that way

It's his marker. Let him do it.

                    haha!

Can I shave my on/off pin a little to increase RT?

If you are using the pin in a micromag, then you can shave a bit more off than normal. Be aware, that a pin that is made to rt in a micromag may not work at all in a regular mag.
