    new bolts in old Mags

I'm new to this site, I really appreciate having a place to look for answers, but I haven't seen anything about using new bolts in old guns.
I have an old mag, when it works, it beats every gun I've owned. the problem is that it's breaking balls like crazy. As y'all have suggested, I'm working on a plastic nubbin', and new barrel (came with some custom job) but I also noticed that the bolt doesn't look anything like the one on my buddy's new classic. Mine has a concave face with a bunch of little holes drilled in a ring around the edge and no obvious spot for foamies. When I tilt the gun back, I can see the ball roll back in the chamber (into the concave face of the bolt), I assume the balls are breaking in the chamber because paint sprays out the opening in the feed tube. I was wondering 1: if the interference with balls in the feed tube is adding to my breakage problem.
question 2: Is it alright to put a longer bolt in there (will it make any difference with the balls rolling back)?
question 3: I am pretty sure this guns been used hard, and I was wondering if I should be concerned with clearances(sp?) putting a new bolt in?

Once again, thanks for contributing to the education of a newbie.

sounds like you have a ans venturi. thats what i have. they will wear out quick. I advise buying an agd bolt. i perfer fomies. AGD does have fomi bolts but i was dumb and baught ans. ans sucks.

now about breakage. your bolt needs a fomie. you glew it in the cinter of the concave and it will stop the balls from rolling. you can put any barrel made for a mag on the gun you want. If you have any more questions just ask.
Sorry for the spelling. Im still working on it.

I use an AGD longnose foamiless bolt and it works great for me. If you have a standard feed body I would recommend getting the longnose..it reduces blowback which can in turn cause chops. Ahh heck I recommend this bolt for what ever body you have!

        bolt question

What difference does it make whether I use the foamie or hardnose(?) bolt. It would seem like using the foamie would be better (softer is better, right?). I thought about trying a foamie on my bolt, but the balls roll back about a quarter of the ball width, i didn't think the foamie would be enough. Should I go with the bolts on the online store, or try to find something else. I'm ignorant, is my funky bolt an upgrade?
I would also like to know what you guys think my next move for upgrading would be. I already have an expansion chamber on there (running CO2, thinking of switching to CA), double trigger, running off a remote. What would you suggest for my next move?

the long nose bolt is great and no fomie to deal with wich won't last for ever your ventury is missing a little round fomie I had the long nose bolt it worked good now I got a fomie super bolt works even better get a superbolt next upgrade you should get is a good nitro tank like a flatline 4500/68 then a retrovalve and if you have a standard feed body get a p/f and if you don't have an aggitated hopper get one !!!
Z-griped, warped, retromag with super bolt, and warpleft polished body, freak kit and flatline 3k

            I am with soilent...get HPA
Revvy if you don't have one, and an intelliframe. Honestly there is no other trigger pull like the I-frame that I know of! It is awesome
Unless you shoot a lot of paint...I would suggest holding off on the ReTro until you are just not satisfied with the stock valve.
