    plumbers tape ...

    when using plumbers tape or thread seal tape on hose fittings , how much is enough ?

    At work we use this stuff all the time.
    Rule of thumb is 3 complete times around.

    Also, make sure you wrap in the direction the fitting is being tightened or it will want to unravel as you tighten,

      I prefer the yellow kind for gas fittings. It's twice the density of the white kind so it doesn't get stringy and messy as bad. It's also made to seal gas fittings, so works great for compresed air lines.

      The white is the 'general purpose' kind.
