    Valve leak

    The leak the title refers to is on a Level X and is the valve itself not the shims, carriers etc.

    Problem: There is a small gap between the silver part, that the bolt moves along, and the black part, where the on/off resides.

    Known Fact: I know there is a gap because it is visible and oil comes out of it when I gas up my marker.

    Question: Is this repairable?

    Disclaimer- I posted in the above format so I do not get reply(s) of Check the shims, Check the ... etc.

          How can you see that part of the valve when you gas up the marker? It would be inside the body.

          The valve is made up of three parts. The front part that the bolt moves back and forth on is the powertube. The powertube is fastened to the front chamber which is in front of the integrated regulator. The third part is the valve back. It screws onto the back of the regulator section.

          When the valve is installed, the powertube section and the front chamber that it is fastened to are inside of the body. The regulator part of the valve and the valve back are the visible parts of the valve that you see sticking out of the back of the body.

          The powertube section screws onto the front chamber. If there is a visible gap between the powertube and the front chamber, tighten it so that the gap is no longer there. The leak should go away if one is present. These don't usually come apart. They have loctite on them to prevent rotation.

          If you can post a clear picture of the gap, it would be easier to tell what is going on for sure.
          Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

              Ok the crack where the red circle is is where the air leaks from. This is the valve for my X Mag and I can see the oil, from the air leak, come out of here when I am firing.

                  It is possible that the oring is bad. You may need to replace it. They aren't in the kits since they typically never go bad. Call/email Tunaman here on AO. He can get you a new one.
