moving a lvlX to a diff valve

Quick question before I do something I regret. I bought a classic valve with a lvlX installed. It came with no extra carriers or shims. It has the smallest carrier in it and no shims installed, but works very well in this configuration. I'm curious if I simply move everything into a diff classic valve if it would work ok or would need to be retuned, which I don't have parts for. Thanks

Odds are that it will need at least some retuning. Still, you may not, but I would not put money on it.

In theroy, there should be any reason to re-tune it. You "tune" the oring to the stem of the lvl 10 by the carriers, not the valve itself. It should just drop in and work as advertise.

I concur. You should be able to drop the level 10 bolt and carrier/oring combination into any valve and it should function fine.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

For the record, this does work just fine.
