    Twistlock barrel loose

What's the traditional way to deal with a twist lock barrel with wobble? I could probably machine a brass sleeve to fit it, but that seems like overkill.

The barrel is a J&J with several degrees wobble when it's locked into the body.

Are those standard orings? It seems like it has way more wobble than new orings could fix.

If you take your gripframe off and look at the underside of the twist-lock pin there should be a small allen head scew, it holds the spring against the the pin which holds the barrel to the body, try tighting that.

EDIT. I reread the thread and I don't really think tighting the twistlock pin will help with side to side wobble, if new orings don't work then in video 2 of the automag series on youtube TK recomends some thin scotch tape under the orings for a thighter barrel fit.

Yeah... I'm pretty sure none of those things will work. Just measured the barrel dia at the breech, and it's about 0.010" undersize. I could still sleeve it, but then it'll probably make the plastic nubbins less effective.

Quality electircal tape has a thickness of about .004-.007
Thry wraping a single layer of this around the twistlock under the body where no one can see.

Or you could check mcmaster.com for nonstandard orings. The groove is wide enough to accept a larger that the typical 1/16" oring. Maybe look for something with the approriate ID but with a 3/32" thickness. Stick with soft-medium durometer... polyurethane. Buna-N will work too but wear out faster. Good extra-credit reading material: Parker Hanifin Oring Design Manual (free online).

Good idea! Actually I think fat buna o-rings would work great, and wouldn't wear out that fast. Not like your constantly removing your barrel all the time.

Tape is fine. There are a few barrels that are undersized. The tape trick works every time.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
