AKA Viking dissassemble help

Loaned out a 2k3 Viking, and it came back with a screw near the grip frame turned all the way in. It's behind the eye cover on the right hand side. My best guess is that the screw is in one of the bottom tubes. I need guidance on how to break the gun down so I can get the screw out.

What the hell happened there? If it's the one I think it is, then that is the screw that holds the valve in. You'd have to take the front cap and rear ram/hammer off the right tube and try to see what's going on in there. The valve can be pushed out with a squeege or something, if the screw is missing.

You'll need an AKA tool to remove the covers. If you need a loaner, PM me and I'll send you one I have.

Yeah, with the valve in place, that screw should not be able to be in all the way. Disassembly is pretty simple aside from needing the 3 prong tool for the endcaps.

You mean you don't adjust the velocity on a Viking like you do a Tippmann?

Sorry for your luck, but as was already mentioned, that's the screw that holds the valve in place. If someone loosened it while there was air in the gun the valve would shoot back into the ram area.

That is pretty much how my friend explained it to me. Ugh.

How severe is this problem? Is it possible the valve was damaged?

I think I'll reach out to Zach - he's probably got the tools and the know-how I need.

It's possible the valve may be damaged. If you can't find the screw, the valve must have moved or rotated. The screw is there to locate and orient the valve, without it the valve is free to float around in there.

Get a tool from Zach, me, or whoever. You can also use the tips of needle-nose pliers if you're careful and don't slip. You need to take off the cap and the front and the ram/hammer out of the back so that you can push the valve through and get it out. Once it's out, we can figure out how fubar'd it is. Be careful when taking the cap and ram/hammer out, as you don't want to tear any o-rings.



You can see the hole that the screw goes in to locate the valve. I don't have a valve in front of me, but if the screw was forced all the way in, I can't help but thing that something got messed up.

You should have signed up for D-day and rocked out with us. I gotta get out to you guys.
