    What Bore Do You Use?

I'm interested in hearing what bore mag users are using these days.

If you could only have 1 barrel bore to choose, what would be the best choice?

.682 has been working great on my local FPO field.

Its gonna depend on location a lot. I have found that here in the Northwest the .689 or 691 works best because of the air here, especially on brittle paint.

It seems rare I see .689 paint anymore, here in the southwest desert.

Thanks for the Kaner recomendation, but going to anodize my project, so that rules it out.

Well next best thing is find a big bore barrel that looks nice with your setup and have it drilled to accept inserts.

I only bring three bore sizes with me at the field now because paint has gotten smaller.

Most of the assorted Draxxus I get here in the midwest is in the .684 to .686 range. I fear the day that I gets much smaller because my scepter kit will be worthless to me.

The other day I was shooting Draxxus Midnight with a .689, and it shot great.

.682 Kaner. It's about right considering how small paint has been getting. I used my .689 Planet Eclipse barrel a few weeks ago, and it didn't shoot nearly as well, due to being hugely overbored - otherwise it's a very nice barrel. But no paint is that big anymore. (at least I can't find any.)

I might try my .684 back on my Mag though, just because the .682 is always on my Cocker...when paint gets really small I use my .679 Freak on the Cockers.

I've been thinking about boring out the Eclipse barrel to accept Freak inserts...anybody know the procedure? My dad has a nice mill that could do it...what kind of tool would I need for it?

My Scepter has a .680 insert, so I hope that will be small enough for awhile.

Detailed instructions might be helpful, since I have access to a lathe. I'm planning on using brass inserts, but don't want to buy more than I need due to their cost.

Marbs, V1, Bronze, Triumph, White box... I have not seen anything bigger than .682 this season. Most were either .679 or .677.

That said, I am extremely happy that I bought a TechT iFit kit.
