    Automag ULE Overhaul in SoCal?

Hey guys...I haven't played in years, and my marker's been in storage for a long time. The last time I aired it up and tried to dry fire it, it was going full auto. I don't have the time/parts/knowledge to tune it up, but I want to get it back to working order.

Is there anyone in South Orange County or the environs who can get this puppy back in working order for me at a reasonable price? Let me know. Thanks.

Im in SoCal, Orange County, near the block. Rapid fire you say, but no leaks correct? if so, im thinking your velocity adjustment is too much turned to the right. loosen it up first, fire twice. tighten, fire twice. hope it works out. if not, and youre not too far from me, i can tech your mag.

Oil it. I had a valve that sat for 4 yrs that did the same thing. Broke it down, individually oiled everything up and shot like a champ.

Last thing could be your top orings in your on/off. Make sure they're all there. Should be 2 of them.

Thanks for the tips guys. Yeah, i used to be an Automag maintenance ninja, but the years haven't been kind to my memory. I just know there's a lot of o-rings to mess with.

I'm assuming you have a classic/68Automag valve. Rapid fire is usually a symptom of a bad on-off top oring (the small white teflon inner one).
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

The AO SoCal guys are pretty regular on getting together...

This is the place to go to post about events, AO get togethers, or just to find other players in your area. A great place to meet up for scenario games!

There's lots of fresh mag-fu available in that group. I made Clareball '10, which was the highlight of three months in Carson, CA.

            Here's Rudz' quicky guide.

No, its a ULE with an X-Valve.

ULT aka ULE on/off? Does your on/off look like this one on the far left or the center?

If it's the far left one, pull a few shims out. The body of the on/off will spin apart.

Glad to see our Clareball attendance will grow by at least 1 more person this coming year

Ok, an x-valve rapid fire problem is still the small oring on the top of the on-off. It just urethane instead of teflon.

If you are talking about a ULT instead of a retro on-off assembly, then remove a shim as Ando mentioned.
