    x-valve r/t?

i was watching vids of the old r/ts rippin and was wondering if i could acheive the same thing by boosting my air pressure in my xvalve. and does anybody know how much pressure these valves can handle . in one vid it looked like the guy had his marker hooked up straight to a scuba tank. lol

The x-valves (just like classics) are rated for up to 3000psi straight into the valve (the valve itself has a reg built into it). I am not sure what my output pressure is, but with my 68/45 tank I r/t at about 22BPS... I just got in a tank with an Air America Reg, so I can adjust my input pressure up to 1000psi I believe, maybe a little more. I will know how it works out this weekend. I also made a gauge to check the output of my 68/45 but its empty so I cant tell ya right now.

if I remember correctly they usually have a nice r/t at about 900-950psi. but don't quote me.

The X-Valves are EXACTLY the same as the Classic RT, ReTro, RT Pro valves. The only difference is that X's are all aluminum, and the others are 1/2 aluminum, 1/2 steel. The X-Valves will take 3000 psi input, just like all other valves. And yes, increasing the input pressure in an X-Valve will give you a good RT effect. Depending on how well broken-in the valve is, you can get an RT out of ~850 psi, sometimes you need closer to 1100 psi, just depends on the valve.

And speaking of the video, yes, that's Zak Vetter who plugged an RT into a scuba tank. I think the tank only had around 2200 psi, not the full 3000. I'm actually playing ball with him this weekend.

Slight difference with the ReTro valves: they're not ULT ready and thus only take one oring above the on/off.

I have a 68/4500 nitro duck adjustable tank, unfortunately it's at the proshop in pieces because the reg is leaking. So no rt for me. I got very slight rt effect of a 48/3000 with 800-850 fixed output in two short bursts less than 10 bps but it was still awesome. I need my dang tank back!

the tank i'm trying is nitro duck xstream 68 4500 . from my understanding they don't make tanks that go over 850. is that true and do the older ones go higher? any body had any experience with the xstream series tanks? is there better ones out there?

My tank was made in '99 and the output is adjustable from 0-1200. I don't knbow about the xstreams. I had it up to 1100, but there was only about 1200 or so in the tank. I didnt shoot it at this pressure because it formed a leak when I started to go past 1100 and by the time I got it not leaking there was less than 800 or so in the tank. Its at the shop being rebuilt as we speak, if I get it back this weekend I'll let ya know. If I get some sick reactivity I'll post a vid! I'm using an on/off pin thats halfway between the stock and the emag pin, I'm hoping for the best. I'll know more details about my tank tomorrow

I've got an X-Stream system. They work really well, good flow. They're a little large though. But yes, they only get up to around 900 psi at the most. If you really want to get a good RT, find an old Smart Part Max-Flo (Manifold or inline), Armageddon, Dyna-Flow, etc. They will get you up over 1100 easy.

                  Read this for more information:

I went to pick up my tank but the tech couldn't fix it so its still leaking. I ended up buying a new 90/4500 ninja tank. It has a fixed output of 800-850, but it is shimmable to 900-950 with no problem. I called ninja and talked to Ray, he said for extra cash he could put different internals in the reg so it has a fixed output of 1100 to 1200 perfect for insane ripping. I didn't choose the 1100-1200 psi option because I plan on runnig other guns at much lower pressures. The local shop didn't have any extra shims, but Ray shipped me some for free! (Ninja's customer service is excellent). I made a video of it shooting today and put it in the thread RT recharge problem .
I'll make a vid again when I get the shims in sometime next week.
