on/off designs

ok, so I now own three classic mags and have three different on/off designs.

One is what's shown on the lasering on the body - one is the hammer shaped RT on/off. That is the RT on/off - right?

The third one I just opened is a metal disk, a set of orings, then a part that looks sort of like the one on the lasering - then another set of rings. Can anyone tell me what that one is - and what order the parts are supposed to drop?

that disk right after the on/off pin just sort of sits on top of the second set of o-rings. It doesn't grab on the hole like the other on/offs

That is unusual.

I think you have the right order in your pic, but I guess you have to put the valve in with the marker upside down to keep the bottom in place.

I've cut on some classic on/offs, but it never occurred to me to separate the bottom.

That's the right order.

I think that's a reactor valve on/off...I have 2 of them, I just can't remember who it was that made them.

I think reactor was also the name of the company but don't quote me.

yep that is a reactor valve .... if i remember correctly you are supposed to put the on/off pin in upside down to make it work properly too

that might explain something. I got it in a CFL Z-grip mag. Reports were that it "wasn't working right".

I'm collecting mags to build one to keep - so I wasn't worried. Either I get it to work or someone else does - chances are that most of this mag won't be in my hands for long.

I haven't put air to her yet - I just got the package at work and don't have a tank with me. I'll see what happens tonight when I get home.

So, was the reactor just a lighter trigger pull?

perhaps a little its been too long since i had one in my mag .... i didn't like them as you had to be really careful when pulling the valve out of the body so you didn't lose the flat disk. in fact i think i remember it saying on the package to turn the gun upside down when removing the valve so you didn't lose it.

yeah, the first time I pulled the valve I dropped the donut. looks like a crappy design for use on the field.

I assume it'll end up on one of the two mags I don't keep.

I might have enough parts laying around to build a stock on/off

No. Same size on-off pin, so same amount of force to push it in.

The reactor was designed for better air flow on the top section where people determined the greatest amount of air restriction was. The greatest air restriction was at the top on-off oring, not at the top section holes which people tried to redesign, so this didn't really work any better than an original on-off and quite often was worst because it didn't have the same quality standards. The bottom disk just allowed the two bottom seals sit at the same location so that the machinist didn't have to cut a couple of extra notches in the bottom section of the assembly like the AGD ones.
